With a group of seven people, Grace Church was admitted as a parish of the Diocese of Maryland in 1870. Through the years Grace has been served by a succession of clergy and, for a short period when there was an absence of clergy, two dedicated lay leaders, Mr. George Delaplaine and Mr. Walter Kirk, led services each week. Currently the Rev. Mary-Pat Ashby is serving as Rector.
At the present time the area in which we are located is experiencing a huge amount of growth.  The congregation is also growing.  Consequently, we realized that we were outgrowing our buildings-both the old church in the town and the house next door which is used for Sunday school and other meeting space.

Grace Church Farm
In 2001, the Grace Church Congregation received a very generous gift from the Delaplaine family of 26.5 acres of land just outside the town limits of New Market. This property, known as Grace Church Farm, is the site of our new church and education building. There is also a house on the property which we use for the parish offices and a variety of gatherings, including coffee hour, pancake supper, Girl Scouts, and even a painting class taught by a local artist.

Although there is sadness at leaving our beloved church building behind, there is excitement about our new, clean, well-lighted facility. Finally we have water and air conditioning and a large, well lit parking lot.
On April 6, 2008, the Rt. Rev. John L. Rabb will be here at 4:00PM to bless and dedicate our new church. Following that service there will be a reception. You are welcome to join us!
